The Crossroad of Time

In the slow but steadfast flow of time, our memories accumulate layer by layer. At the crossroads where past, present, and future coexist, we encounter time.

In the heart of Seoul, time flows both slowly and quickly. If you cut out the shape of a building with your fingers, half is the sky and the other half is the fast-moving clouds. When the day changes, the sky is washed away, but the city remains unchanged. If I cover the city with my palm, this landscape will remain to me only as memories and the people I've met. Walking through this alley, passing signs that are collages of time's remnants among buildings arranged like a maze, one feels the passage of time. While walking down the alley, the clouds moved even faster. Time is left intact on the ground. At the crossroads where past, present, and future coexist, we meet time.

시간의 교차로

느리지만 묵묵하게 흘러가는 세월 속에서 우리들의 기억은 차곡차곡 쌓여 간다. 과거와 현재, 미래가 공존하는 교차로에서 우리는 시간을 만난다.

서울의 한가운데, 이곳의 시간은 느리게도 빠르게도 흐른다. 건물 모양을 손가락으로 따라 잘라내면 반은 하늘, 반은 빠르게 흘러가는 구름이다. 날이 바뀌면 하늘은 씻겨 내려가지만 도시는 그대로다. 손바닥으로 도시를 가리면 이 풍경은 나에게 추억과 만났던 사람들로만 남게 될 것이다. 미로 같이 배치된 건물 사이, 시간의 흔적이 남아있는 콜라주 같은 간판을 지나치는 이 골목은 걷고 있는 중에는 세월이 느껴진다. 골목을 걷는 동안 구름이 더 빠르게 흘러갔다. 세월은 지상에 고스란히 남아있다. 과거와 현재, 미래가 공존하는 교차로에서 우리는 시간을 만난다.
